"Reading The Suite Spot is like wearing bunny slippers and drinking cocoa in a blanket fort (with a really hot guy)—the ultimate comfort read to escape into when you need a break from the world." - Roni Loren, New York Times bestselling author of What If You & Me

We stand there on the brink of something we both feel but neither of us is ready to identify, and the little half grin he shoots me is nearly as devastating as his full-blown smile...

One of the few bright lights in Rachel Beck's life is her job at a Miami Beach luxury hotel—until she's fired for something she didn't do. As a single mom, Rachel knows she needs stability, and fast. On impulse, Rachel inquires about a position at a brewery hotel on a tiny island in Lake Erie called Kelleys Island. When she's offered the job, not even the grumpy voice on the line can dissuade her from packing up her whole life and making the move.
What she finds on Kelleys Island is Mason, a handsome, reclusive man who knows everything about brewing beer and nothing about running a hotel. Especially one that's barely more than foundation and studs. It's not the job Rachel was looking for, but Mason offers her a chance to help build a hotel—and rebuild her life—from the ground up.
Trish Doller's The Suite Spot is about taking a chance on a new life and a new love.
A Macmillan Audio production from St. Martin's Griffin.

This thoughtful contemporary romance from Doller (Float Plan) brings together two wounded people within a tiny community. Single mother Rachel has ambitions of rising in the ranks at the upscale Miami Beach hotel where she works—so she’s devastated when she’s fired for defending herself against the sexual harassment of a wealthy guest. She hesitantly accepts a new job at a brewery hotel on a remote Ohio island—but discovers upon arrival that the boutique hotel does not yet exist, and is still a pipe dream of owner Mason Brown, who’s recovering from the death of his child and a difficult divorce. Though initially appalled at Mason’s deception, Rachel soon recognizes this as a wonderful opportunity, as Mason offers her creative control over the hotel while he develops his craft beer. The (perhaps overextended) descriptions of her furnishing the hotel will be great fun for HGTV fans, and Doller keeps the romantic tension sizzling as Mason and Rachel work and live together. A subplot about Mason’s growing bond with Rachel’s three-year-old, Massie, as he works through his grief adds to the emotional tapestry. Doller uses a vivid setting, strong secondary characters, and convincing depiction of loss and love to create a thoroughly satisfying story. Fans will be delighted. Agent: Kate Schafer Testerman, KT Literary.

Sarah Naughton's empathetic narration gives listeners a cozy seat in Rachel's cabin on Lake Erie. She has uprooted herself and her daughter, Maisy, from Florida and is settling into a new job at an Ohio brewery/inn. When she meets her new employer, Mason, she develops an instant attraction. In her narration, Naughton ensures that Rachel sounds like a modern woman whose maternal feelings and personal ambition in the hospitality industry are well balanced. Mason's voice is both tentative and caring as he processes his failed marriage and the death of his daughter. As he moves from grief to hope to love for Rachel and Maisy, Mason's growth sounds incremental and realistic. Maisy's adorable preschool voice melts hearts as she fiercely bonds with Mason's grumpy cat. C.A. © AudioFile 2022, Portland, Maine
